Jane holds an M.A. in Art Education from the University of New Mexico and a BA from CU Boulder. She currently works for the University of Wyoming as the Coe Student Innovation Center Makerspace Coordinator, and teaches for the College of Education. Previously she worked for Colorado State University as an Extension Agent in STEAM / 4-H Youth Development for Pueblo County. She has been principal investigator, director and collaborator for several grant funded research projects including, the BeeWise Internet of Things Smart Hive project funded by eXtension Foundation & Colorado Corn Grant, Cognizant Pokes Making the Future and Pueblo Making the Future STEM programs, Wyoming Afterschool Alliance's MakeHER Million Girls Moon Shot funded by STEMnext, MakeHERspace and TinkHER programs funded from Outreach funds from University of Wyoming. She started her work in STEM while working on the Student Dust Counter on the New Horizons Mission to Pluto (2004-2005) at CU Boulder. She also contributed to a Department of Defense, and an NSF Partnership for Innovation grant on immersive education with the Institute of American Indian Arts and University of New Mexico's ARTSLab (2012 – 2014). She has professionally collaborated on the Rio Verde Archaeology Project since 2011, on several grant funded projects from the National Science Foundation and private foundations, through Sonoma State, CU Boulder and University of Central Florida (2012-2014). Jane is a STEAM educator, interested in game-based learning, emergent educational technology and curriculum development in STEM education through project-based art and design.
