A former life in rural economic development, introduced me to small business owners having difficulties finding young workers with trade skills. They would ask:" What the heck became of shop class?" Sound familiar? A few years ago, I founded Soup Stone Media. With a team of instructional designers, we built a working prototype for a maker-ed microlearning enterprise platform co-op business supporting local tool instruction workshop activities in maker spaces and other educational settings. This ongoing work was presented in some form during each of the past five years of NomCon. Now looking forward to the next five years and taking this initiative to scale for wide community impact.
