Eric Saliim joined the maker movement in 2015, as Program Director of the NCCU Fab Lab. in this role, he has sought to engage a critical mass of underserved and underrepresented communities in Durham, North Carolina with making, to facilitate a cultural shift in these communities to innovation and invention using computation and tools of digital fabrication. A work that has been recognized by Insights into Diversity magazine, which named the NCCU fab lab, a promising program in STEM 2020, and the Infosys Foundation, which named the NCCU fab lab as one of the recipients of the 2021 Infymaker award.
